(6-A, 22-B, 24-A)
Dancers are given geographic challenges based upon a map of the dance space. They must create grids or lines, maintain their position in those lines, apply stage-mapping toolsupstage, downstage, upstage right, center stage center, etc. Games using North, South, East, and West turn the stage into a map of the US, and dancers are asked to stand if they are in Texas, California, Florida, NY, etc. Dancers are challenged to compare and contrast information, figure out what works and doesnt work, make predictions about the outcome, and draw conclusions about the best way to execute goals. |
