Music education is embedded in the curriculum. A live pianist accompanies every class. Music notation and note values are covered. Students are taught to recognize music staffs and staff signatures, music notation, tempo, rhythm, etc. Dancers learn to use voice, clapping, stomping, and dance steps to create rhythmic and melodic phrases. Pianists expose students to different genres of music, as well as encourage them to interpret the music emotionallyhappy, sad, scary, funny, etc. Dancers and audience members are trained in proper performance etiquette. |
