Sara was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She began dancing and performing at the age of 11, studying Theatre, jazz, hip hop, cheer and drill. After graduating high school, Sara attended New Mexico State University with the intent of receiving a degree in Theater, but instead she fell in love with the dance program. Being introduced to Modern, Ballroom and Latin dance completely changed her life and she hasn’t looked back since. She had the privilege of studying with the Director of the NMSU Dance Department, Debra Knapp, who inspired many to become great teachers and performers. Sara was a member of the Dance Ensemble company and the DanceSport Team. In May 2006, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Dance. Sara was thrilled to hear about Kids Excel from Ms. Knapp and attended the Kids Excel Teacher Training in September 2007. Sara feels that very time she works with the children, she grows as a dancer, a teacher and a person!
