Lori began studying tap and jazz at the age of five and continued to dance her entire life. She was an avid dancer and cheerleader as a teen in San Diego, and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Bio Mechanics. Lori taught tap and jazz for 12 years before moving to El Paso. When she arrived here with her young family, she worked as an instructor for the International Dance Theater for three years. She has been living in El Paso for 15 years, where her primary focus has been raising her four talented children. She is a dedicated tennis player, and competes in a women's league in El Paso. Lori saw a Kids Excel demonstration and fell in love with the inspiration and joy that she saw in the children's faces. She began her apprenticeship with Kids Excel in 2006 and quickly advanced to a full Instructor status. Lori loves the opportunity KEEP gives her to share with the public school children of El Paso the valuable lessons on self-esteem, self-confidence, excellence, and discipline that arts education, and especially the study of dance can instill. |
