Gayle Greve Hunt is a community volunteer, philanthropist and life-long resident of El Paso, TX. For many years, Mrs. Hunt has been active in numerous civic and charitable causes, on both local and statewide levels. She is the outgoing Grants Chairwoman for the Texas Women for the Arts, and is currently serving as a member of the board of directors for the Texas Cultural Trust and Kids Excel El Paso. She has served in numerous roles for the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, and has been a YWCA Leadership Benefactress for the past seventeen years. Mrs. Hunt also served as a member of the Junior League of El Paso.

Previously, Mrs. Hunt served as a member of the board of directors for the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, the FEMAP Foundation, and is also a former member of the J.P. Morgan Chase El Paso Charitable Advisory Committee. Among her ongoing family and civic duties, Mrs. Hunt serves as vice president and member of the board of the Hunt Family Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation she and her husband established in 1987. In 2008, Woody and Gayle Hunt were recognized for their continued support of the El Paso community and were named Philanthropists of the Year by the West Texas - Southern New Mexico Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In October 2010, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, which is a part of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - El Paso, was established in El Paso and named in honor of Mrs. Hunt. Gayle Hunt graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and was a school teacher prior to having children. She is married to Woody Hunt; they have five children and eight grandchildren. |
