Louann (Cita) is a native El Pasoan. She received a BA in mathematics from Hollins College in Virginia. After graduation, she worked in London at Sedgewick Collins Price Forbes, a Lloyd’s affiliate. In 1974, she married William D. Sanders and moved to Chicago. While there, she was a member of the Junior League of Chicago, board member and treasurer of the Women's Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and volunteer and benefit chairman of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. In 1990, the Sanders moved to their ranch outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was treasurer of the Buckaroo Ball Committee, a volunteer at Rio Grande School and Santa Fe Preparatory School, and a volunteer math tutor in the Santa Fe Public Schools. She has returned to El Paso after 32 years and is currently on the board of the FEMAP Foundation and Kids Excel. She has 5 children and 4 grandchildren. |
